Você anda lendo seu xará, na sexta-feira, Hume? Ou ouvindo Bowie? :)

"So I turned myself to face me
But I've never caught a glimpse"
(From the song Changes)

When addressing the theme of personal identity, Hume argues that memory is the chief source of our notion of personal identity. He argues this because memory is what is primarily needed to bring together past perceptions to form bundles – bundles which make up what we call the self.
“I can never catch myself at any time without a perception, and never can observe any thing but the perception.” Even when we actively look for the self, Hume argues, we can’t find it. All of our experiences are perceptions, and none of these perceptions resemble a unified and permanent self-identity that exists over time. And when we are not experiencing our perceptions—as when we sleep, there is no reason to suppose that our self exists in any form.

Minhas leituras de Hume andam paradas.

Essa foto aí foi no caminho, numa rua da cidade, levando minha esposa para fazer exames médicos.
