"In the case of building a portfolio, asset allocation—how you choose to split your portfolio among asset classes—is the 20 percent input that will get you 80 percent of the way there. In fact, asset allocation may get you closer to 90 percent of the way there according to one study. Roger Ibbotson and Paul Kaplan performed an in-depth study on the drivers of portfolio performance. They wanted to know if it was asset allocation that drove portfolio performance or market timing and active security selection. What they found is that more than 90 percent of a portfolio's long-term variation in return was explained by its asset allocation. That leaves only a small amount of the variation in return that can be explained by an investor's ability to time the market or successfully choose individual securities"

"The real perfect portfolio is whatever approach allows you to stick with your investment plan without completely abandoning your strategy at the worst possible times. It's the portfolio that helps you eliminate any possible behavior gap that comes from chasing hot funds, buying high or selling low, and investing in products or markets that you don't understand. The specific asset classes, funds, and individual holdings you use to put together your portfolio all matter, but they matter much less to your overall results than your ability to handle difficult market environments. Sticking to a disciplined process when everyone else is losing their mind about the market is far more important than putting together the precise mix of asset classes or stocks. Sticking to your plan is therefore the closest you will get to the perfect portfolio"

A Wealth of Common Sense. Why simplicity trumps complexity in any investment plan. Ben Carlson.

O inverso, segue o plano. Imóveis a preço de banana, segue o plano. FIIs caindo, segue o plano.
