I'm working just half of the day in the office. In the morning, I'm taking care of my son. He isn't going to the class.

   Hi Marcelo.

   I'm currently working from home, so my schedule hasn't changed at all.  And, just like you, we're without our cleaning lady since pubic transportation was shut down in Florianópolis, so now me and my wife have to keep the house clean as well.

   As for language learning, I need to organize myself to study French again.  It's been a while, so it's really rusty right now.   I taught myself French with Assimil back in 2010, before a trip to Paris with my then girlfrend (now wife), and in the years since I've studied it esporadically, to refresh my knwoledge, usually before a trip as well.

   I've also dabbled with German, Italian and Spanish since, even toyed a little bit with Czech, usually before trips as well.  Now, however, I want to take it more seriously with French, before learning anything else.

   As for English, I started learning it when I was eight years old, and use it daily, mostly reading though.  It's my second language, and the one that made me fall in love with language learning.

Fortunately I'm doing my work from home! I have more free time and I'm using it to do some exercise, study english and read. I'm trying to learn japanese in Duolingo, something new to keep my mind healthy.

I'm working normally. But my nights are more productive, because meetings, are canceled. So I'm reading much ( three books since 03/18), and training my English. My course suspended class but next week We'll have web classes.

Hi, everybody! I'm working at office this week, but I'll be at home next week doing my job by home-office. I feel as I'm not using my time properly and I'm trying to improve that. By the way, I'm reading the book "Essentialism - the disciplined pusruit of less". Great book.

Hi! I'm dentist and of course I'm not working these days. But today I got a call from a patient with teethache. But, mostly of my time I've been with my son and wife.  I used to spend my time watching TV (series), read a book - I'm reading Harry Potter again, this time in English version - in order to improve my English.

@karmann Did you know that Harry Potter books are used worldwide for language learning?  There are a few reasons for that.

First, a lot of people are already familiar with the material in their mother language. So it gets easier to read and understand the books in the language they're learning.

Second, the series was made for children, but J.K. Rowling realised her public would grow up reading the books, so the language improves and gets more sophisticated with each book.  As a result, by reading them in order, you'll be improving your skills with each book,just like a kid would do over the years.

Another way to use Harry Potter books to improve your knowledge, or any other book as well, is to read the book while you listen to the same audiobook.  This is called the L-R, or Listening-Reading method.  This way you listen to your target language and read it at the same time.

My wife works in health service so that she can't stay at home in these crazy times we're living: she must go to work. As I'm, since last week, exempt from my job temporarily, I have stayed at home taking care of my kids. When they give me a break, I have tried to improve my English skills, listening mainly, through podcasts and tv series.

Great thread Marcelo.
I’m a doctor so I’m busier than ever. Although I’m a specialist and I’m not seeing patients who are suspicious for covid-19 yet, I am still seeing some patients who need to be seen in clinics. After my regular hours I have to go through all of the patients files to decide which appointments  are urgent and which are not and reschedule them accordingly. Also with surgeries the rules here are changing everyday so we have to make sure urgent cases are done and non-urgent cases are postponed.
A few weeks ago I was planning many things I’d do during my quarantine. Since I’m overseas and away from my family I wanted to make sure I had a list of activities  I’d like to do to keep myself busy, but I don’t think my quarantine is happening at all!

Just started a new IT course which made me got really into it. Its been pretty busy days besides all this crisis. I would say the best is find out something to keep the mind busy, such as courses,books etc. Working out a lot at home as well, I couldnt imagine it. Cheeerss
