The did used in "I did like the movie" is to emphasize that you liked the movie. For example:

Did you go to school today?

Yes, I did. 

I doubt you did, I saw you hanging out with Chris at three o'clock.

School finished earlier. I did go to school!

When you say "I did like the movie" you are emphasizing your answer, so it depends on the context. 

Example:
Did you really liked that crappy movie?
I did like the movie, indeed.

Is it correct to say just "I like the movie"?

Since you must to have watched it so then you could opine about the movie.

"I read the newspaper", I can't say "readed".

what do you guys think?

@IsraelB You can say that. Using the verb in the present or in the past will make a difference in meaning.

By the way, the past of read is read, not readed

"I read the newspaper" - Past - The action started and finished. Maybe you are saying you read the newspaper that day.

"I read the newspaper" - Present - The action is continuous, you read often

Is the same in portuguese:

"Eu li o jornal"
"Eu leio o jornal"

Actually the use of the auxiliary verb "do" in the past is to make questions and make negative sentences in the past:
- Did you like the movie? Yes, I did.
- I didn't like the movie.

But, if you want to say something in the past, it's better to use the present perfect or the simple past:
- I have liked the movie. (present perfect)
- I liked the movie I watched yesterday. (simple past)

"I like the movie" - you are saying in the present.
"I read the newspaper" - depends because "read" in the past is the same word "read" in the present.
You can say: "I read the newspaper" eu li o jornal
or "I read the newspaper" eu leio jornal

A frase "I read the newspaper" me lembrou a letra da musica "A day in the life" dos Beatles. Há um trecho que diz:

"I read the news today, oh boy

About a lucky man who made the grade
And though the news was rather sad
Well, I just had to laugh
I saw the photograph"

Repare no "...today" ao final de "I read the news...
É ele quem faz com que você não precise colocar o "have" depois do sujeito e antes de "read".
Ou seja, quando especificamos o ponto do passado aonde a ação acontece, não é necessário o "have".
