Important information about your account - for clients who reside outside the US From: Notices | Date: 06/03/21 4:23 PM Dear XYZ, We are writing to let you know about a change to the Cash Sweep Program, a feature of your TD Ameritrade, Inc. ("TD Ameritrade") brokerage account.1 The Cash Sweep Program enables you to earn interest on uninvested cash balances in your brokerage account. Effective July 1, 2021, brokerage accounts held by clients who reside outside of the United States are not eligible for the TD Ameritrade FDIC Insured Deposit Account ("IDA") feature in the Cash Sweep Program.1 You will still earn interest on your cash with the TD Ameritrade Cash feature, as explained below.
What this means for you On or soon after July 1, 2021, your cash will be withdrawn from the banks in the IDA feature and deposited into your brokerage account. Future deposits of cash into your brokerage account will remain in the account and earn interest paid by TD Ameritrade. This is called the TD Ameritrade Cash feature. You will notice this change on your brokerage account statements. Below is a comparison of interest rates on the cash features as of June 1, 2021. Interest rates and annual percentage [REMOVIDO]s ("APY") vary over time.

While both cash features currently pay 0.01%, there are some minor differences in how interest is paid and when interest begins accruing. Both the IDA and the TD Ameritrade Cash Feature pays accrued interest on the last business day of each month. In some instances, accrued interest will be paid earlier in the month for clients in the IDA. Additionally, cash deposits into the TD Ameritrade Cash Feature begin accruing interest on the date of deposit while interest does not begin accruing for deposits into the IDA until the next trading day.
Change in insurance coverage As a result of your cash feature changing from the IDA feature to the TD Ameritrade Cash feature, your cash balance will no longer be insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation ("FDIC"). Instead, the cash balances in your brokerage account will be eligible for coverage by the Securities Investor Protection Corporation ("SIPC") of which TD Ameritrade is a member. SIPC protects the assets of its members' clients up to $500,000, including up to $250,000 for claims for cash, including your TD Ameritrade Cash feature balances. Additional information about SIPC is available at
www.sipc.org. Additionally, TD Ameritrade provides each client $149.5 million worth of protection for securities and $2 million of protection for cash through supplemental coverage provided by London insurers, up to the aggregate policy limit of $500 million.2
Other Considerations Maintaining cash balances in your brokerage account should be for the purpose of investing in securities and is not intended for long-term investments. [REMOVIDO]s on the IDA Feature and the TD Ameritrade Cash feature can be lower than those of similar investments or deposit accounts.
You don't have to do anything This change will happen automatically, and your cash balances will be withdrawn from the banks in the IDA feature and deposited into the TD Ameritrade Cash feature on or about July 1, 2021.
Eligibility for Cash Sweep Program features in the future In the future we may be able to change the eligibility requirements for the Cash Sweep Program. If you become eligible again, we will notify you in writing and give you a choice whether you want to move back into the Program.

1 Currently, at the end of every business day the cash balance in your TD Ameritrade brokerage account - money you may have received from dividends, interest payments, or settled funds from a deposit or the sale of securities that have not yet been reinvested - is swept into deposit accounts at banks through the TD Ameritrade IDA cash sweep feature. Some of the banks participating in this cash sweep feature will not be accepting widespread deposits from non-US accountholders. 2 As a reminder, TD Ameritrade does not conduct any activities in your country. Neither cash feature is subject to insurance protection for cash products that may be available in your country from another broker-dealer. Neither the Cash Sweep Program nor this letter is an offer or solicitation for any registered or unregistered product. Non-deposit investments are NOT FDIC INSURED / NOT BANK GUARANTEED / MAY LOSE VALUE. TDA 1002290 EM 6/21
