Awesome, i consider my english some kind of upper-intermediate. I've been in USA for 4 months last year, i was already dreaming in english. But without practice we get rusty, like everything else. What you are doing is great, with persistence you gonna get there soon.

Audiobooks can be a good thing to improve the hearing skills too, and it's easy to listen while you are doing other things, like working out or walking... I'm not in that level yet, but I'll use some of your tips.

way to go! just dont get anxious by trying to avoid all kind of minor mistakes. as fluent as your english can be, it will never be you mother tongue so its ok to be 95%+

@Noct everybody has his own way to do things. Giving me "deadlines" help me to get motivated. Other[REMOVIDO] I just procastinate. I don't feel stressed if a don't accomplish.

@Kyuzo then the deadlines shoud be smaller and more tangible, so you can keep track of your progress. dont know how you can measure that, thats why i dont think its effective. but im sure you can figure something out.

I'll also try to improve my English. The easiest part for me is to read and the most difficult is to speak. Remember that English has different accents and slangs  and sometimes the native speakers from a country have problems to understand people from others English countries. And if you have the possibility, travel to another countries.

Dear @Kyuzo, how long have you studying English by italki platform?

The speaking practice is the hardest for me, I don't have anyone to have an English conversation. On the other hand, I also need to improve my writing once sometimes I need to write papers for professional issues.

I've been studying English for a long time, but I still dealing with grammar and speaking mistakes. I've done a traditional English course in a private school (presential) and in the last two years, I did an online English course.

At this moment, I don't know if I do another online English course or if I try the italki again. Do you use professional or community teachers?

Tip to improve your listening: speed up podcasts and YouTube videos gradually by adjusting the playback speed. You'll be in 2.0x sooner than you think and ordinary speed will be easier to comprehend.

It's just like when you're working out with heavy balls and then immediately start playing volleyball or basketball afterwards -- the regular ball feels very light. Except that in listening the feeling is sustainable long term.

@130491 I've a conversation with a canadian on iTalki last month. It was my first time speaking in english and I really enjoy it. It wasn't a lesson or a class, it was just a small talk conversation. I strongly recommend.

I really like ITALKI. I did lessons with 3 teachers by now. The average price is $10 for 30 minutes and $20 for 60 minutes. I think is cheap for having the oportunitty to speak with a native speaker and him telling you what you need to improve. If your english is not good, you can book a lesson with a teacher that also speak portuguese.

There is other websites that do the same, like CAMBLY, but I didn't try them yet.

The most important thing is to don't be ashamed by your mistakes. I think this is something good about me, I don't worry. Is not my first language and mistakes are part of learning.

I am in the same way of yours. It is important have contact with the language many time as possible. Below what I had planned and it is good so far:
- one on one (on-line) classes 2x week
- reading an English book (the everything store - Amazon)
- watch series in English with or without subtitles
- add English language in your devices keyboard

I’ve been waking up early and before works starts, I invest just 45 minutes reading or having classes. And at night watching series. 


I am trying to not push myself so hard, maybe it is good to enjoy the journey.

As you can see, I committed many mistakes on this text, however...

I second Locke words - as you aren't a native speaker, it's perfectly acceptable if your english skills slip here or there. After all, even native speakers often make mistakes. What really counts is your ability to make yourself understood without much effort from you or your interlocutor.

For me, of the most arduous things in learning English is speaking. It's been almost 10 years since I last actually spoke in English and most of my practice involves written forms of the languge. As a consequence, it's not unusual that I find myself lacking in regard to pronunciation of words or even constructions more palatable in day-to-day conversation - I'm often too formal and my sentences don't transition well between formal and informal structures.

Anyways, congrats, good luck and keep up with the good work!

Your plan sounds great!
Just a tip.. don't set a deadline. It can make you frustrated whether you cannot achieve it.
Go smoothly, step by step, and enjoy the process. We don't learn any language overnight, it is a process, and you learn day by day, just like babies learning their native language

If you can understand, in the first try, everything Churchill said you've achieved god-level (above fluent/native LOL).

Specially what he says at 54 seconds (actually that is the only very hard or maybe impossible part, the other parts are between easy to just hard).

My 2 cents here...

I've been practicing with Preply, and it has been such a great experience. You can book one-o-one classes with natives speakers or with you want you can find Brazilian teachers as well.

I'm trying to improve my speaking skills like you, so I've been attending English classes 5x per week. I started it last month, and I can see some improvements. Also, I feel more confident to speak than before.

I did everithing that you put above, but what's really speed up my English was to work some time overseas. So if you have a chance go for it and "embrace the COWS"  it will worth every penny! Good lucky!
