I had a hamster when I was a kid and another one about three years ago, and I can guarantee you: they aren't traders.
Hamsters are holders.
They always stock food and wait quite some time to eat it. They save about 20% of everything they get. They usually start saving somewhere that has high liquidity - for some unforeseen emergency - and then build a diversified portfolio of food hideouts that are harder to get right away but will save them in the long run.
One of my hamsters even stored one or two of its poops alongside the food - proving they also know you need to have some shit in your portfolio to make it work.
Wise, wise animals, these hamsters.

Wise and adorable. Used to have some too, and it was so relaxing to watch them go about their business storing food and exercising with their toys
