"An Aside: Is There Any Such Thing as “Optimal”?
We don’t really know what optimal is. There is no way to know.
As scientists we try to continually push knowledge forward but,
optimal remains a pie in the sky idea.
There is nothing wrong with reaching for more and trying your
hardest, but don’t fall into the trap of constantly questioning and
changing what you are doing in the pursuit of the magic “optimal”
formula. You will always be able to convince yourself “I should be
progressing faster”, and this mindset leaves you susceptible to the
“magic formula” marketing that is so common in the fitness industry."
